Walgreens Expands its Key Specialty Pharmacy Service

At ODS, we are committed to providing the highest quality programs to best serve our members. Our mail-order partner, Walgreens - in working to enhance its efficient, customer oriented services — is moving service for regular pharmacy mail-order customers from Portland, Oregon to Tempe, Arizona. This change is effective August 1, 2007. 

Due to the tremendous demand for specialty pharmacy medications, Walgreens is expanding its key specialty pharmacy service, which will be managed exclusively out of the Portland pharmacy.

The Tempe facility’s tremendous dispensing capacity means Portland clients will continue to receive the same exemplary prescription service while enjoying the benefits of a more automated, state-of-the-art facility. Members should see no significant change in service other than the postmark on their package and a different prescription number. The average turnaround time for prescriptions in Tempe is less than one day, and with this transition, our members will enjoy the same responsive service. Members refilling their prescriptions will receive new order materials and a brief note explaining the change with their first package from Tempe.
